AROS Vision
Modern and free Amiga-Compatible Experience on Amiga and PC
My 3.1 edition is based on minimal base configuration. You must own 3.1 roms for it. If you do not own it, you can buy amiga forever. Additional you must install P96 to get full comfort. For that you can use free P96 from aminet. You find it here. I use it here as base. In the meantime there are updated versions of amigaos (3.2 at Hyperion) and P96 (ioComp). I will in future test if it works there too.
So you need 3.1 rom and P96 (aminet).
1.My WinUAE config is here. You can save it on desktop and import it in WunAE.
2.Change harddrive to a local directory that you want to use. Rom musr be "KS ROM v3.0 (A1200) rev 39.106 (512k) [391523-01/391524-01]" if using amiga forever. Then attach adf file "wb31-install.adf" in "floppy drives"
then start...
you get next picture
Double-click on icon "Install31" and then open directory "install" by doubleclick. Use the appropriate language. Next you see this view.
Select language for installation (double-click. Here I use "English". Then "proceed", "Install Release 3.1", "Novice", select languages that shall be installed, Printer driver and keymaps. Then it needs a while....
Next disk is requested. Every time press "F12"
and change inserted adf in df0:
this must be repeated until installation is completed. Then you get next picture
as requested press "F12" and remove adf. Reset WinUAE. Then you boot in 3.1 on harddrive. Next picture.
you get this picture. Now you must install P96 from aminet
Now download and install P96 (Picasso96), the graphic card system, on 3.1. You find it here You must unpack it somehwere in your "System:" drive. Easiest way is to create a temp directory there. You can use any unpacker, you have and that supports lha format. I use 7-zip on windows. Next boot in 3.1, open "System" and keep right-mouse clicked to activate menu at top. There go "Window" and "Show" and "all files". Then double click on directory with unpacked Picasso96 archive. Then open "Picasso96" and then "Picasso96Install". Then start "Setup"
"Proceed", "First install", "Intermediate", "Proceed", and so on. On Page "what kind of graphics board" keep "uagfx", "Sys:libs" and so on (always keep locations except one time with "work". Select there a different location for install. Then reboot and open Prefs/Screenmode. Now you have new screenmodes (UAE).
As recommended there is a updated version of P96. To support development buy a license. It is not expensive and includes one year updates. You find it here. I have not currently tested my distribution together with the updated versions. The same for AmigaOS 3.2 as base. Will do that and update the webpage.
After selecting one of the "UAE" screenmodes you get for example this. Preparations are completed. Now download my archive from download-page and unpack it. Copy the unpacked files in the "3.1+P96"-Installation
